Gun Blogger Rendezvous - Range Day (Day 2) and Cabelas

Some more pictures of the Gun Blogger Rendezvous.

I think this picture is the first day just meeting and getting organized before leaving for Cabela's.

We arrived last Thursday and had a tour of the local 125,000 square foot Cabela's.

We were ushered into the Gun Library where I got to handle an Armalite AR 180 and whole bunch of other cool rifles, pistols and revolvers. I felt like a kid in a candy store.

I, unfortunately, didn't take any pictures except for the outside of the store!

The next day we had a breakfast sponsored by Rachel Parsons of the NRA. She was supposed to speak to our group but she couldn't make it because of some kind of medical emergency. Hope she is better! Thanks for the great breakfast!

After that, to the range! The 240 yard gong is out a little past the big numbers. If you click on the picture you can see what I'm talking about.

Had fun shooting stuff, especially out to 240, and 410 yard gongs.

I brought my Robinson Arms XCR rifle. It preformed well shooting the gong! Especially with the 7.62x39 round! I was standing and hitting the gong out to 240 yards, I think the plate was about 18" across. The optics consist of a AimPoint CompM4s and the 3x magnifier.

Here is Dan Hall the GunUp founder shooting the KRISS Super V.

These are the last of the random images.

Overall the experience was great and I met a lot of great people!

Mr. Completely did a great job organizing the event, activities and mustering up all the great sponsors for raffle prizes. KeeWee, his wife was awesome too, they sure know how to throw a great four day party!

I'll be there next year!

Gun Bloggers Rendezvous Door Prizes!

All the sponsors were very generous.

All the participants got t-shirts, pens, carrying cases, pistol carrying cases, stickers, hats, gun lube, NSSF literature, coffee mugs, Brownells AR-15 magazines and other stuff I can't even remember!

It was a fun evening of conversation, prizes and eating!

Gun Bloger Rendezvous Pizza Night Dinner and Super Awesome Raffle!

The pizza dinner that the gun bloggers enjoyed before the raffle was graciously sponsored by the NSSF.

The Gun Blogers Rendezvous raffle which raised $2,000 for the Soldiers' Angels had some great prizes to give away.

Molly Smith's parents enjoy some great conversation.

All in all everyone had a great time at the dinner and raffle event. I got to meet a whole bunch of great people and support a great cause too!

Gun Blogger Rendezvous Steel Shoot!

Nice shooting!

At the end there was a fun challenge to shoot a steel plate as fast as you can 5 times from seven yards. That was a lot of fun. I managed to do it in 1.12s using my trusty M&P9. Hopefully, I can improve on that for next year!

Everyone had a lot of fun!

Guns of the Gun Bloggers Rendezvous

Just got back from the Gun Bloggers Rendezvous. There were a lot of interesting guns on display there and available at the range to shoot.

Some Show-and-tell pictures of the KRISS Super V. Unfortunately the pictures aren't the best because I used my camera phone.

SBR showing how close the VFG was to the end of the barrel. This thing screams "Suppressor"

Nice close up shot showing the charging handle, Bolt release and mag release controls.

Blurry shot of the over all KRISS Super V SBR.

Also on display during the show and tell was a unfired full auto M1 Tommy gun. Very nice!

A close-up of the "Fun Switch"

KRISS Super V SBR in action. That was a lot of fun to shoot!

Also Molly Smith was there during the steel shoot event to give us novices a few pointers!
