Chabot Tactical Rifle!

Went to the Chabot Tactical Rifle match and it was an excellent time.

About 30 people showed up today and we ran three courses of fire on three diferent ranges. It was a suprising turn out considering it was pretty cold, windy and started to rain a little. I guess the troppers showed up! Ben and I got there a bit early to help out setting up one of the ranges.

After the ranges were set up we all gathered around to discuss the rules, fill out the paperwork and pay the nominal fee then broke into three groups and rotated to each range to shoot the courses.

Each course stressed diferent skills. The match stressed accuracy over speed and everyone that participated was excellent.

A lot of fun was had by all!

This course was a nice mix of poppers and paper. Nicely set up a variety of positions to shoot from. Total round count was about26.

This course included some close quarter targets mixed with distance shots. Use of cover essential! Something around 24 rounds minimum to complete.

This was a tricky course in that long distance head shots were required with no shoots targets very close. If your sights weren't dialed in you'll get a lot of "no shoots"!

And now some action shots...

All in all it was a great time and a great opportunity to excercise the carbine or whatever you had. I had my trusty Z-M Weapons LR300 configured California style and it worked great.
