Just finished reading this book about the spread and growing boldness of Al Qaeda to attack western interests.
The author starts from the beginning of the emergence of Al-Qaeda with the East Africa bombing investigation and attack on the USS Cole.
It covers the circumstances where the first CIA agent to lose his life in combat in Afghanistan and more regarding how decisions are made and strategies are decided on in order to topple the Taliban.
The book's time line span's two U.S. government administrations.
It's a very interesting read and I was just browsing the book store and picked it up out of curiosity.
