Vang Comp 870Vang Comp Systems makes the Vang Comp Remington 870 Police magnum which is a great shotgun for home defense and tactical shotgun use.
The Vang Comp has the following modifications:
"The alterations to the barrel consist of lengthening the forcing cone, back-boring the barrel, and adding compensating ports. With the VCS, accuracy significantly improves, felt recoil is dramatically reduced, and muzzle rise diminishes. By lengthening the forcing cone, the pellets have a smooth flow from the chamber to the bore. This prevents the pellets from bunching up in the barrel and reduces the felt recoil. In addition, the pellets do not become as deformed and keep a more consistent shape."
This shotgun has a nice 8" pattern out at 15 yards and ant 25 yards it managed to get 6 of 9 shot on target using Winchester 00 buck.
I was shooting slugs out to 50 yards at a standard B27 and hitting the 10 and 9 ring consistently.
The muzzle rise is minimal as I was able to get back on target quickly and the felt recoil was definitely reduced.
I really like the sights as it makes it easy to get on target quickly. The Hogue Black Synthetic Stock is very comfortable but you need to be careful not to damage the shoulder padding part as it seems a little fragile.
The Vang Comp Remington 870 Police Magnum is a solid shotgun with great improvements on an already great gun.
