Stage 1: One-day Defensive Handgun Safety and ManipulationI was looking around for an introductory firearms course for my wife and I to take together so she felt more comfortable with using her handgun in all sorts of situations. She already has proven herself as being quite a marksman as she competes in the Reed's Range Monday night shooting league.
Geared towards those with little or no shooting experience. Includes handgun safety, draw, basics of marksmanship, and more.
After much research we decided to enroll in Reed's Range One-day Defensive handgun course taught by Louis Awerbuck.
The course was very good, starting off the morning with a lecture/theory component demonstrating the various different types of handguns and their strengths and weaknesses.
After the lecture portion we went out to the range and did the practical portion of the course which taught proper draw stroke, Louis spent time with each student diagnosing any marksman issues that they might have etc.
Overall, it was an excellent course and worth every penny. Louis is very patient and very detailed in his explanations and, of course, very knowledgeable. He has a unique sense of humor and he used that to get across his various points.
My wife thought the course was perfect for her and never did she feel uncomfortable or that she was missing anything because the material was being taught too fast.
Thanks Louis!
